ABOUT US

Accent Financial Services began in 1969 when Matthew M. Butschek, an electrical engineer who loved ranching, realized he could save substantial taxes by studying the tax code. He soon began preparing returns for his neighbors, who were astonished at the refunds he secured. Word spread, and what started as a favor grew into a family business built on the idea that if money can stay in your hands instead of “that deep hole in DC,” it’s a patriotic win. Matthew ran the firm until his passing at 95.

Today, certified tax advisor Ryan Otto leads AFS. With more than two decades of experience in entrepreneurship and Fortune 500 finance, Ryan took over in 2022 to help entrepreneurs and families plan for the future. Supported by office manager Angela McBride, enrolled agent David M. Clark, senior tax preparer Marjorie Gray and a dedicated team, we continue Matthew’s mission from our home in Allen, Texas.
